ValorSorter (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our mobile application ValorSorter. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

• Personal Information

We do not collect or require any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or contact details.

• Device Data and Preferences

The App stores certain preferences, configurations, and profile data locally on your device (e.g., saved profiles, selected branch, display settings) using standard iOS storage methods like UserDefaults. This information is not transmitted to external servers.

• Usage Data (via Firebase Analytics)

We collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable information about how you interact with the App. Examples include:

• Which buttons are tapped (e.g., “Sort Valor,” “Save Valor,” trash icon)

• Profile sorting/filtering choices (e.g., sort by branch or last modified)

• Rack configurations and spacing settings
  This data is anonymized and used to improve the user experience.

• Peer-to-Peer Sharing Data (Nearby Share)

When you use the Nearby Share feature, the App uses Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework to broadcast your chosen “call sign” and make your device discoverable by nearby devices running Valor Sorter.

• The only information shared during discovery is the callsign you select.

• When you choose to send a profile to another user, the profile data is transmitted directly and only to that peer over local Wi-Fi/Bluetooth.

• No nearby share data is transmitted to ValorSorter servers, Firebase, or third parties.

• Received profiles are saved locally on the recipient’s device, and both sender and receiver may delete them at any time.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Improving the App – Usage trends help us refine features and ensure stability across devices.

• Troubleshooting – Usage data helps identify bugs and performance issues.

• User Experience Enhancements – Local data (e.g., your saved profiles and preferences) helps personalize your experience.

• No Selling or Sharing – We do not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

• Data Stays Local – Any ribbon configurations or user profile data remain entirely on your device unless you manually share them.

4. Data Storage and Security

• All configuration and profile data is stored locally on your device.

• We implement reasonable safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, but no digital system is 100% secure.

• If you delete the app or lose your device, your locally stored data may be unrecoverable.

5. Third-Party Services

• Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymized usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used, but does not identify individual users.

• Multipeer Connectivity (Nearby Share)

Peer-to-peer communication uses Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework. This is a local, device-to-device communication method. No data is routed through ValorSorter servers.

6. Children’s Privacy

• The App is not intended for children under 4.

• We do not knowingly collect data from children. If such data is inadvertently collected, please contact us to have it removed.

7. Your Choices

• Manage Local Data – You may delete or reset all local settings and profiles by deleting the app.

• Analytics Opt-Out – While there is no in-app toggle, you may limit tracking through your iOS device settings under:

Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking

Please note: Disabling analytics may affect the app’s ability to improve performance and features.

• Nearby Share Call Sign – You may edit or remove your callsign at any time in Settings.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date.

We encourage users to review this policy periodically.
